Laurie and Clinton Bradt, Tracie Patterson and I are busy getting ready for our Mission Trip to Uganda this summer! We are so excited to be a part of the “Come Let’s Dance” organization!
Laurie teaches 4/5th grades at Christian Heritage School in Steamboat Springs, CO. Clinton is Laurie’s son. Clinton is 7 years old and is from the orphanage in Uganda that we are going to be helping. Clinton was in my class this year at CHS!
Tracie teaches 2nd grade at CHS. She and her husband, Matt, are awaiting a baby from China sometime in the next year! Tracie and I were both new teachers at CHS last year. Tracie’s Mom and Dad were missionaries in Honduras for many years.
I have taught first grade for the past 2 years at CHS. I LOVE it here! I also tutor and teach art classes after school. I love the small class size (12 in my class this year!!), the great parent support and the staff I work with. I had taught art in the public schools for14 years previous to this back in IOWA! My job at CHS is a lot less stressful that my other jobs and I love that it is a Christian School and we can pray and teach about the Bible!
Laurie mentioned to me earlier this year that she and Clinton were going back to Uganda this summer and wondered if I might like to join them. The four of us are really looking forward to a month in Africa! We will be helping at the orphanage, in the slums and at the hospital near Kampala. The orphanage wants to start their own school soon, so part of what the three of us will be doing this summer is working on plans to make that happen sometime in the future!
Tracie and I will be in Africa from June 23 - July 21 and Laurie and Clinton a week longer on the front and back side of that. Please, keep us in your prayers!! THANKS so much!!
