My little “Iowa Hawkeye” team!! :)

Wow! The days seem to be zooming by!! I have 13 days of teaching left for this year. I really do love my kids and parents this year, but it will be great to be done and have all my time to spend on planning for Uganda!

Plans are moving along well! This last week I knocked off a lot of the list…..

I am finished with shots, have all my meds bought for (just-in-case…whatever comes up) while I am in Uganda.

Finished up a lot of thank you notes. Thank you to ALL who have helped out in one way or another…..I am very blessed with wonderful family and friends! Your kind words were very encouraging and motivating!!

I have purchased the mosquito net for the bed (we ordered the kind that has elastic that fits around the mattress….lets hope it works!!), the head light (so I can see to read at night or go to the bathroom…by the way, I’m told the house does have a flush toilet!! AWESOME news!! :) ) and the ear plugs (they tell me the noises from the wild dogs will keep you awake at night without plugs!!). So…I’m getting there.

Laurie, Clinton, Tracie and I have two fundraisers coming up… One is a meal at a local restaurant that we have been selling tickets for and expect around 150 people to attend. The other is a big garage sale June 13th at Laurie’s house. We are praising the Lord for our many blessings!!

The other thing I worked on the weekend was writing up my proposal for credits I am hoping to get from a college to renew my teaching certificate while I am over in Uganda. I will be journaling, taking photos, teaching lessons, drawing, painting and trying to complete some kind of paper/project to turn in when I return in hopes of receiving 4 hours of credit.

Soooooo……….God is good! Steamboat is good (sunny and warm…Spring is here!) I am good and getting more excited by the day about our adventure to Uganda!!

Blessings - Jill
